art: paul davies

The Tim Olsen gallery in Sydney is hosting a show of Paul Davies architecturally inspired paintings. A lot of them are sold already but the work really sings and I am sure Tim would ship to the US if anything took your fancy!

art: lily kelly napangardi

We have a painting by aboriginal artist Lily Kelly Napangardi. It’s made up of 100s of tiny white dots on a jet black background. It’s one of my favourite pieces. Her work still appears every now and again on ebay (Australian ebay). The one above is for sale right now on ebay. Non-ebay examples of her work seem to be much more detailed and highly finessed. Perhaps ebay is getting the cast offs?

art: joanna lamb

Perth artist Joanna Lamb is producing some really strong work. She shows at uber cool Sydney gallery Sullivan+Strumpf. I came across her work on Inside Outs revamped blog. They’ve done a really nice job – check it out here.

Emma Walker, an artist based in beautiful Byron Bay, is one of my oldest friends. I hadn’t seen her new work and just had a good look through her website – which covers these 2009 paintings. It is well worth checking out. She is represented by Tim Olsen in Sydney and Flinders Lane in Melbourne. Above is the painting Blue Tarp and below is Oasis.
