object: paper art

I love these paper cut outs. From Cut Out Paper. I wrote about them over at Lifework.

furniture: smart

Check out Made.com. Really interesting and innovative business model. And great designs. Nice combo.

object: the perfect light…

I am a big fan of designer Ilse Crawford‘s warm modernism. And I really like this light when she launched it as a desk lamp. In February next year it launches as a wall-mounted lamp. Iron, beech, bone china and a fab red cord. Beautiful.

gift: city in a bag

I love these …they’ve been around for a while but I think Tokyo is new. And at $14 they aren’t that expensive. Be a great mantlepiece display. Tokyo is above and London is below.

magazine: news

lonny-cover

After a full page article in this month’s Vanity Fair I don’t think Lonnymag.com needs much more press. But I was just trying to track down defunct Domino magazine’s website…it’s been killed off and you now go straight to Architectural Digest – not quite the same thing, thank you! I remembered that some of the Domino team had regathered to produce Lonny – London and New York…Lonny, get it? It’s a nice online read but still doesn’t hold a candle to actually reading a magazine.

I’m loving these ceramics by the talented UK-based designer Owen Wall.

I am big fan of young British designer Benjamin Hubert’s work. I came across his concrete lamp shades last year when we covered them in Belle. His new work – showcased at 100% Design London - is just as good. His Labware lighting for Authentics won the Blueprint Best New Product Award at 100% design this year (bottom).
