A few years ago Brian bought back one of these bears from Tokyo for our daughter. It’s been a prized possession ever since. This weekend teaforest cafe (8686 Washington Blvd in Culver City) is holding a Rilakkuma event complete with a life-sized bear, gift bags for the first 50 guests and lots of merchandise for sale. Plus a photo booth (I do love a photo booth!)
It runs from 2 – 5.30 pm.

I need a calendar and can’t decide which one…there’s the one by Jeng one (above) which is pretty. And there’s a cool one from Tortoise of Japanese woodcuts (below) which is also pretty…or do I go practical with the Field Notes (bottom) one I wrote about last year?
We’ve been doing an advent calendar this year for the first time and it’s wonderful counting down the days til Christmas. The calendar is pretty but nothing very special. I want to make one next year with the kids. I was in Tortoise yesterday and re-discovered their Keisuke Serizawa calendar. Each page is a beautiful woodcut and sits in a little stand. So lovely.
