I am exhausted – lots on right now. I found this a few days ago and still haven’t had a chance to really understand it. The designer Mathieu Lehanneur is having a show of his ceramics at Issey Miyake in Paris. Each vessel represent the population of a country…forget graphs or any kind of powerpoint. This is humanity writ in clay. Via Yatzer.

My favourite Abbot Kinney design store, Tortoise, has new ceramics by Ryota Aoki. The perfect little vessels are half porcelain and half bone china (above). Tortoise is also offering carving classes with Yo Takimoto – you can read about one person’s experience in a similar class here. Sounds interesting. Yo’s work is below.

I am embarrassed to admit I haven’t yet visited the LA Heath Ceramics store. I am a huge fan of their designs but just haven’t made it over there. There’s a nice interview with the founders on Media Bistro.
