Murray Fredericks

Show of his photographs at Annandale Galleries. Wish I was in Sydney…it ends Dec 10 and we arrive a few days later.

Breakfast

Brian and I were watching a bad movie the other night - or maybe it was a TV show – one character was mocking the other saying she probably was the type of person that blogged about the food she ate. We looked at each other and laughed. Because, yes I do that. But this was really good! Eggs fried into the hole in the middle of a bagel. Slimming? Probably not. But very delicious. I usually dig a hole out of the middle of a piece of sour dough but we were out. It’s extra good with fresh oregano from the garden and Tabasco. Oh, and milky coffee.

Lunch

Clearly a theme with these lunches. This was tomato, basil from the garden and olive oil on multi-grain bread. I need to branch out…had delicious roasted carrot soup at book group last night (thank you Rachael – waiting on that recipe). It’s the first day of Autumn so soup is starting to feel like a good idea.

Lunch

Sourdough bread, mango chutney, aged English cheddar and baby arugula.

Cook: Bill’s Latest…

We are huge fans of Bill Granger’s cook books – I think we have everything he’s ever published. And, although somehow I seem to mess up a lot of his recipes (I just can’t believe they can taste good if they are that simple), my husband follows them perfectly and the food is always always delicious. Now it looks like Bill’s gone and done a deal with Tyler Brule‘s Monocle and you can get signed, linen bound copy of his new book “Everyday Asian“…you can get it for 50 pounds (where is the pound sign on my keyboard!?) Or you can buy it through Amazon for $24 – no linen and no signature but the recipes are the same!
