Finally a doco about my favorite designers – Charles and Ray Eames. I’ve long been fascinated by the collaborative nature of their work life. And this documentary, EAMES: The Architect and The Painter, made by Jason Cohn and Bill Jersey promises to explore their design legacy and their life/work in detail.
Just wrote about it over on Lifework…but you can check out the trailer below.

Wallpaper magazine just published their list of Top 20 Sites...I do love a list and this one is no exception. Contains two of my latest obsessions – Kickstarter and Pinterest. Not sure about Patternity though!
Loving this whole concept by Scott Thrift…

Well this isn’t really lunch…I had my first Wednesday work meeting with Sal this week. Great to get out of the office and meet up with a friend who shares my obsessions. We spent the morning working at Bolivar – one of our favorite local cafes. Latte, beet and carrot juice and a madeleine. I get the same thing every time I am there and am never disappointed.
My daughter came home from school today and told me they were celebrating the death of Steve Jobs. She is in first grade and I think she may be misusing the word ‘celebration’. I asked if she knew who he was and she said he was the creator of Apple. She also said her computers at school are Apple and her teacher’s own computer that she takes home with her is an Apple. I reminded her that all our computers were also Apples. And this wireless keyboard I love so much. And my sleek little wireless mouse. I can do what I do today with as much joy because of the genius of Jobs. I am in deep appreciation of his drive and creativity. And while I wont celebrate his death, I do celebrate his life – every time I sit down at this desk and turn my computer on. Thank you Mr Jobs.
Thanks to Joel Pirela at Blue Ant Studios I actually tidied up my desk…I think a lot of my fellow bloggers followed suit. Check out Joel’s new “Creative Desks” series.
