I’ve always admired Hernybuilt – a Seattle-based custom cabinetry maker. Their work is clean lined and simple, modernism shot with warmth. They’ve just started a new kitchen company – Viola Park - that aims to fill the enormous chasm between IKEA and Boffi. The average package will cost around $15,000. Considerably more than IKEA but a whole lot less than the high end Euro designs. Plus it’s got a strongly sustainable edge. Not something IKEA can boast. Via LA Times.
