I loved Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are as a child. And I love reading it to my kids. I think Sendak’s ability to illustrate a story is exceptional. Max’s room becoming a jungle is one of my all time favourite children book moments. Now Spike Jonze has taken the book and made a film (the screenplay was co-written with Dave Eggers and Sendak).  I hope the movie is good. It’s such a big task to take on a beloved book and transform it.
